The Treasure Seekers concerns a family of six children in turn-of-the-century England. Their mother dead and their father impoverished through the malfeasance of his business partner, the Bastable kids try a number of schemes to renew the fortunes of the House of Bastable/5(32).

The story of Treasure Seekers - is a story of six children, who really admire Kipling and Dickens, go through various adventures to earn money. The reason behind their adventures is the poor financial condition of the family.

The story is meant for children; for me - it was not interesting and, at times, was very boring/5. The Story of the Treasure Seekers was Nesbit's first published story. It tells the story of the six Bastable children - Dora, Oswald, Dicky, Alice, Noel, and Horace Octavius (H.O.).

The story is told from the point of view of one of the six children, but the narrator refuses to reveal who he/she is until the end/5(11). The Story of the Treasure Seekers Paperback – Ap by Edith Nesbit (Author) out of 5 stars 32 ratings.

The Story of the Treasure Seekers was a breakthrough children's book. Oswald is such a very real narrator, at a time when most people were writing morality plays for children J. Rowling --Source If Britain is to children's fantasy as Brazil is to football, then Edith Nesbit is our Pele - endlessly surprising and inventive/5(41).
